Enough, Enough, I have lived my years!
Enough, Enough, I have cried my tears,
No longer wish I to tread this misty life,
To trod in constant strife,
My children long to pass the length of my ages,
Yearn to achieve the wisdom of sages,
Yet count not the cost
Or remember what I have lost.
Side and shoots have disappeared,
So that I now long for a side spear'd.
My happiness gone,
I shall soon pass on,
But yet hope remains,
For the King still reigns.
Inside me dwell two living men
One tries to hide, the other to shine,
Twisting and turning, my life bends by their hands
As good is borne down, then does my heart pine,
Not for the good, but for the evil as it expands.
O, that the light would take up even a pen!
I fail, I push, I strive, I yield, I decline,
Still my life goes on bound.
Find life, find truth, find love, find peace, find hope,
then shall my heart be manned,
to stand, to move, to speak, to push, and to cope
Against all in which I find evil to pine.
The world shall see the light my heart propounds,
I shall lift the pen,
evil shall suffer decline,
Truth shall find m
